Unfortunately, the Carr fire near Redding has forced us to evacuate and temporarily put a hold on our service to customers. While we aren’t sure when we will be able to return to business as usual, we want to make sure that our customers can return to their recreational activities and start getting back to normal as soon as possible. Carr fire updates

Currently, a mandatory evacuation order is in effect for Lewiston and the surrounding area because of the Carr fire. As a result, our business is closed down and we are awaiting further news about the fire before we can establish a return and reopening date. The good news is that emergency responders and firefighters are holding out hope for the complete containment of the fire.

Though the fire has crept up pretty close to Lewiston, firefighters have managed to keep it at bay and weather conditions have hindered its spread west further into Trinity County. By implementing several different firefighting methods, including aerial tanking, firefighters have held a line in Lewiston along Trinity Dam Boulevard. As of the latest news, the Carr fire has an area of just over 140,000 acres and is about 40 percent contained. Over the coming days, officials expect that firefighters will continue to make some headway and increase the containment of the blaze.

Even after the fire is extinguished, there will be quite a bit of readjustment for Trinity County residents. Officials are assessing damage to guardrails, highways and other infrastructure that will require some work to restore. Still, Highway 299 will be opened as soon as it’s considered safe, and people will begin returning to their homes in Trinity County.
